Pricing and specs of Jaguar F-Pace in dramatic reveal
The South African SUV market is in for a treat after the stunning new Jaguar F-PACE made its official debut at the Jaguar Simola Hillclimb. The tranquillity of the lunchtime break was totally disturbed at the Simola event after fans witnessed an aerial display that saw the Jaguar F-PACE make a grand arrival by helicopter.
The F-PACE was mounted to a custom vehicle platform carried by a Sikorsky S-61N helicopter, which circled Gasoline Alley and the team pits allowing thousands of spectators to experience the arrival of the first-ever Jaguar SUV.
“The Jaguar Simola Hillclimb is the perfect setting for unveiling the anticipated F-PACE. It offers dynamic capabilities and performance synonymous with Jaguar, but also brings a new level of practicality and AWD capability to the brand,” said Lisa Mallett, Marketing Director of Jaguar Land Rover South Africa and sub-Sahara Africa. “F-PACE is the kind of car that you could drive across the country to visit Knysna, and then take on the high-speed twists and turns of the challenging hillclimb road.”
The F-PACE was set down at the top of Simola Road following its adrenaline pumping reveal. Our very own home-grown Hollywood actor and Jaguar ambassador, Sharlto Copley, pushed the F-PACE to its limits down the Simola hill for its maiden voyage. After a photo opportunity in front of spectators, Copley then drove the F-PACE to its display at the Simola Hotel.
The F-PACE performs with elegance and grace thanks to Jaguar’s lightweight aluminium-intensive architecture. It is powered by a thumping 280kW 3.0-litre supercharged V6 engine coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission, allowing the F-PACE to skyrocket from 0-100km/h in just 5.5 seconds, with Jaguar’s high-performance all-wheel drive system ensuring dynamic capabilities and traction in all road conditions, while retaining the signature rear-wheel drive feel of Jaguar’s sports cars.
The luxurious interior of the Jaguar F-PACE is plastered with premium materials and finishes, as well as exquisite detailing. Passengers will enjoy heated and electrically reclining rear seats, while drivers benefit from cutting-edge technologies like Jaguar’s revolutionary Activity Key – a wearable accessory that also serves as a key fob, designed for those with active lifestyles.
The Jaguar F-PACE goes on sale in July 2016 with prices starting at R776 800. Visit your nearest dealer to find out more or to place your order at www.jaguar.co.za.
