Aston Martin salutes DB9 after 13-year production run

The last nine Aston Martin DB9s have left the Gaydon production line while its successor, the DB11, will begin production next month. The Aston Martin DB9 enjoyed a production legacy of 13 years and was instrumental in assisting future designs like the DBS Vanquish and Aston Martin Rapide.

Aston Martin broke the news on Twitter with a sentimental picture of the last nine cars to leave the factory – a cue for those looking to get hold of a possible future classic.

The upcoming Aston Martin DB11 will feature the firm’s new V12 twin turbo and forge the way for other models thanks to a more versatile platform design. That could mean branching into new segments that were previously out of reach.

The first 1000 cars will receive a plaque signed by CEO Andy Palmer who has promised to inspect each one before it reaches the customer – again, another reason to get your name down early.
