Advanced safety and performance for Astina Plus
For 2017 the Mazda3 range gets further technology updates, handling-enhancing systems and a new flagship model in the Mazda3 Astina Plus.
Mazda’s model range has proliferated to include the Astina Plus. This car is available as a 4-door (sedan) and 5-door (hatch) at the identical price if R407 900. Astina Pus will compete with the Golf and new Opel Astra and like the Opel packs an incredible amount of features such as Smart City Brake, Adaptive LED, Lane Keeping Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring.
The 2.0-litre version of the Mazda 3 comes with a package called SkyActiv Vehicle Dynamics. A mouthful used to describe the sporty handling kit on the new and improved Mazda3. These motion control systems are used to reconfigure the engine, transmission and chassis for a more engaging drive.
Chief among them is G-Vectoring Control which considers current steering and throttle input and then decides how to effectively distribute the correct amount of torque to the front wheels. You’d swear Mazda was plotting some turbo equivalent… Sadly no.
Even the 1.6-litre models have your Bluetooth and Cruise Control needs covered while those models fitted with the six-speed automatic now feature paddle shifts behind the steering wheel. Exterior changes rank the Mazda3 among the best looking car in class with some minor work around the badge, a range of new colours, the latest alloy wheel design and redesigned fog lights.
