Citroen exits SA but Peugeot grows stronger
Citroen South Africa has taken the difficult but logical decision to pull out of the new vehicle market with immediate effect.
This move will not affect current Citroen owners who will continue to receive full aftersales and parts delivery service through the existing channels.

Citroen leaves SA. The Cactus was a 2016 COTY finalist.
The focus from 2017 will now fall entirely on the Peugeot brand.
“This entire plan is in line with the Push To Pass plan/strategy of the PSA Group”, commented Managing Director, Francis Harnie. “It was confirmed that South Africa is a key market in the development strategy for the Brand in the Middle East/Africa region.
“We will focus all our resources on retailing the Peugeot Brand which will assist in higher brand awareness, brand image, and increased competitiveness, said Harnie.
And what a 2017 year it’s already shaping up to be for Peugeot. Three new models are headed our way. In March the new 2008 SUV soon followed by the 3008 in May with Peugeot’s 9-seater Traveller expected in September to rival Hyundai’s H1.
