Toyota tests 2017 Yaris WRC in the snow

Toyota is busy with its 2017 Yaris WRC test program to ensure that its return to top-tier rallying – after a 17-year hiatus – brings success. The Toyota Yaris WRC has been built in accordance to the 2017 regulations which permit wider chassis design, fuller aero modifications and increased power to around 280kW from the 1.6-litre turbo charged engine.

With Volkswagen having left WRC at the end of 2016, Toyota will take on Hyundai’s i20 WRC and Citroen’s DS3. Current champion Sebastien Ogier has moved to M Sport to drive the new Ford Fiesta WRC.
