2017 Nissan Navara debuts in SA
Commonly all pickups or bakkies have leaf springs at the back but for Nissan Navara they have chosen to go for a 5 link coil spring system at the rear. A first for a main stream 1 ton bakkie.
Navara, which pushes out 140kW and 450Nm of torque is said to be smooth when it counts but able to take on the rough stuff when needed.
The interior has also been beefed up…with luxury appointments making the Navara feel more SUV than bakkie, and if accessories are your thing, then this one has more accessories available than any new Nissan launched…ever.
The Bakkie weighs 176kg less than the previous version and fuel consumption is claimed at 6.5 litres/100km. Other improvements include a load bay that’s been stretched by 67mm and deeper by 18mm.
Nissan Navara comes with a mechanical warranty for 6 years or 150 000km and a comprehensive 3-year / 90 000km service plan.
