Audi Carbon Editions extended to RS4 Avant and RS5

Ever wanted a louder, lighter RS4 Avant or RS5 Coupe with some extra carbon-fibre? Well, thankfully, Audi Sport has you covered. Two new ‘Carbon Editions’ of the above-mentioned models are set to become available- and they’ll be faster, lighter and dripping in carbon-fibre details.

The Carbon Editions will feature a ‘’Carbon Matt Aluminium Styling Pack’’ which will give you a carbon-fibre finished front splitter, rear spoiler (for the RS5), side mirror covers, sill extensions, diffuser as well as interior inlays. You can never have too much carbon-fibre, right? The RS5 Coupe also gets a striking carbon-fibre finish roof which saves an additional 3kg.

Both the RS4 Avant and RS5 Coupe will come riding on a new set of  20 inch, one-piece milled alloy wheels which are said to save further 2kgs per wheel. Red brake callipers, matt aluminium front grille details and window surrounds finish of the exterior display. Both models will also be fitted with dynamic front indicators as well as Audi’s RS matrix LED headlamps, which can automatically dip or deactivate individual lighting diodes.

Carbon Editions can be found everywhere

Under the hood you’ll find (you guessed it) more carbon-fibre in the form of a new engine cover. The 2.9L bi-turbo TFSI engine remains the same, producing a hefty 331kW and 600Nm of torque, however, a new RS sports exhaust system is promised to ‘’amplify its soundtrack’’.

In total, weight savings come to a significant 80kg for the RS4 Avant and 60kg for the RS5 Coupe. While the engine remains untouched, the weight savings are sure to have a notable effect on 0-100km/h sprint times and handling capabilities.

There’s no word on availability in South Africa as of yet, however, Audi has stated the two models will not be production limited, so hopefully, we’ll see them making their way to us in the not too distant future.
