McLaren 570GT MSO Black Collection-exclusive limited-run variant
McLaren is known for their ridiculously exclusive cars, mostly kitted out in-house by their Special Operations Division known as MSO. The latest project that they’ve finished working on is this, the McLaren 570GT MSO Black Collection. It gets more options as standard and is also packed with an array of custom-built features.
The McLaren 570GT MSO Black Collection will be limited to just 100 units, guaranteeing its rarity within collector circles. Some of the more noteworthy features include an MSO exhaust, which is 5kg lighter than usual, and McLaren’s Sport Pack suspension as standard to keep the GT composed during enthusiastic bends.
Unfortunately, there are no modifications to the engine, with the same 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine found in the regular 570GT supplying a massive 419kW of power and 600Nm of torque being fed to the rear-wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The seats in the interior are finished in black semi-aniline leather, which is a more durable leather material, and the steering wheel gets a touch of black Alcantara leather, matching a few other Alcantara leather bits scattered around the cabin. The exterior of the 570GT is finished in a shade of black exclusive to MSO, with the key finished in a matching shade.
McLaren design boss Rob Melville said of the new variant: “Black is a colour associated with elegance, power and authority whilst also surrounded by a certain air of mystery. The end result remains true to the luxurious nature of the 570GT, but we managed to further amplify its sleek, sporty character with a wealth of new MSO Defined options which I am sure will delight discerning owners.”
Pricing on the McLaren 570GT MSO Black Collection starts at approximately R400,000 above the price of its regular sibling. The first cars are expected to be delivered by July of 2018.
