The New Nissan X-Trail

Nissan is keeping their momentum in the local market after the launch of their Qashqai, following up with the introduction of the updated Nissan X-Trail.

The first set of changes to take place are found inside the SUV, where the ‘zero-gravity-inspired’ seats provide their occupants with improved support and comfort. The central Nissan Connect console receives an upgrade, and there are new gloss black and metallic bits scattered across the cabin. The flat-bottomed steering wheel and optional panoramic sunroof add a premium touch.

The design of the updated X-Trail is reminiscent of its predecessor, featuring signature Nissan styling cues like the ‘V-Motion’ grille and bumper, along with new headlights with daytime running lights. The updated model comes with new 17- and 19-inch alloy wheels, integrated fog lamps on higher-spec models and new LED boomerang lights at the rear, complementing the new rear bumper.

Convenience is also taken care of, courtesy of the flexible seating system that allows a 60/40 split in the rear seats, which can recline and slide forward in order to free up more boot capacity or increase leg room. The third row of seats also folds down flat to create a cargo floor.

The biggest addition to the updated Nissan X-Trail is the Nissan Intelligent Mobility system, which significantly improves safety through its various features like Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention, which alerts the driver of the presence of vehicles in blind spots diagonally behind the car, and Intelligent Lane Intervention which alerts the driver when it detects that the X-Trail is straying from its lane. Intelligent Emergency Braking uses radar technology to monitor vehicle speed and proximity to the vehicle in front, and will alert the driver before engaging the brakes.
