Introducing the Jaguar XF Chequered Flag edition
Jaguar has announced the latest model to receive updates in 2019, and it’s none other than the XF sedan. More specifically, the exclusive Jaguar XF Chequered Flag edition that brings a host of niceties to the sedan in order to keep it relevant amidst the likes of the BMW 5-Series and the imminent arrival of Audi’s A6 in South Africa.
Ian Callum, Jaguar Director of Design, said: “The XF Sedan combines the elegance and exceptional performance which underline all Jaguars. The XF features a beautiful silhouette giving it a dynamic appearance perfectly suited to the Chequered Flag badge.”
The exterior of the Jaguar XF Chequered Flag features subtle differences from the regular XF, such as the obligatory special edition badging, a sportier front bumper, gloss black details, a boot spoiler and some new 18-inch gloss black wheels. The special edition is also available in three colours, namely Yulong White, Santorini Black and Eiger Grey.
The Chequered Flag edition also comes standard with some of the most popular optional extras from the normal XF, like keyless entry and real-time navigation which includes live traffic updates as well as the ability to share ETA’s and routes from the on-board system. Another standard feature is the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display that now features Apple CarPlay, allowing the driver to mirror the interface of their smartphone on the touch display.
Some of the other changes to the interior include some new trim finishes, the R-Sport full leather interior and optional black/black or black/red colour contrast stitching. As with the exterior, there is also special edition badging on the treadplate.
The Jaguar XF Chequered Flag models are available across a variety of petrol and diesel engines. The included engines are:
– 184kW Ingenium petrol 2.0-litre four-cylinder, rear wheel drive
– 221kW Ingenium petrol 2.0-litre four-cylinder, rear wheel drive
– 132kW Ingenium diesel 2.0-litre four-cylinder, rear wheel drive
