Aston Martin Valkyrie in South Africa

Aston Martin Valkyrie now available with new AMR Track Performance pack

Remember the Aston Martin Valkyrie? The R55-million hypercar that was brought to life by the minds of Aston Martin and Red Bull? Well, its buyers are going to have a hard time spec’cing their cars since the Valkyrie is now available with the most extensive selection of equipment ever seen on an Aston.

Aston Martin recently divulged the technical details of the hypercar after many speculated a power figure of around 746kW. They revealed that the Cosworth 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine will actually produce 843kW of power, complemented by the cars 1030-kilogram weight allowing it to surpass the intended 1:1 power-to-weight ratio. This allows the lightweight Valkyrie to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 2.5-seconds.

The latest bit of kit to dawn the options list is the new AMR Track Performance Pack, which features a bespoke collection of body panels that all work together to reduce lap times by around 8%. The pack can even be after-market fitted to a Valkyrie “in a couple of days” by an in-house team at Aston Martin.

Some of the bits in the AMR Pack include a more hardcore clamshell bonnet that creates a significant improvement in downforce, as well as replacements for all the other exterior panels on the Valkyrie. The aero improvements don’t stop there because the pack also includes a track-oriented suspension set-up, carbon fibre wheel discs, a set of magnesium wheels and a set of lightweight titanium brakes.

The Valkyrie is available in any existing colour used on an Aston Martin previously, and there are also four exclusive metallic colours on the options list. These are not normal colours because they are geared for the track and weigh only 0.7-kilograms as opposed to the burdensome 4-kilograms brought on by the other regular paints.

The cabin can be spec’d with a plethora of different textures and materials, although I have a feeling that most buyers will go for exposed carbon fibre interiors with some well positioned padding to sit on. This is a serious track-car after all.
