Bugatti Chiron Sport in South Africa

Special edition Chiron Sport marks 110-years of Bugatti

Bugatti is celebrating their 110th birthday with signature French flair. Forget a party or a fancy event. In fact they’re launching an entire special edition model for the festivities.

The special edition model in question is an ultra-rare derivative of the Chiron Sport, dubbed the Bugatti Chiron Sport ‘110 ans Bugatti’. The French manufacturer describes the special edition as a “tribute to France”, including their headquarters in Molsheim.

The rare Chiron will only see 20 examples being produced, with the key differentiating features being a unique design and colour changes to the interior and exterior.

Majority of the hypercar is covered in a two-tone combination of matte blue and blue exposed carbon fibre hinting at the blue of the manufacturers home country, with the most obvious French reference being a hidden French flag colour scheme under the electronic wing of the Chiron. There are also white stripes on the side mirrors as well as a bespoke aluminium fuel cap.

Bugatti says the use of the different colour textures attempts to visually separate the Chiron’s engine compartment and it’s monocoque. The blue doesn’t end there, because there are also blue brake calipers hidden behind sleek matte black wheels, completing the exterior special treatment.

The interior of the Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 ans Bugatti continues the homage to the French flag with tricolour stripes adorning the backrests and headrests of the sporty blue two-tone alcantara leather seats. There is also a solid silver plaque mounted on top of a carbon fibre plate on the centre console to remind you that it’s the special edition. The final interior touch is the Sky View glass panel roof which comes standard on the special edition.

The rest of the car is identical to its ‘regular’ Chiron Sport sibling that was unveiled in Geneva last year, meaning that you’ll find a quad-turbocharged 8.0-litre W16 engine under the hood. The Chiron Sport will accelerate from rest to 100km/h in 2.5-seconds before hitting its top speed of 420km/h. Pricing is yet to be announced, but as with Bugatti’s of before, we can expect the special edition to be sold before the order book is fully open.
