Audi South Africa to Display Five New Models at 2019 SA Festival of Motoring

This year has been a quiet year for many manufacturers, particularly the Germans. However, Audi has been firing on all cylinders and to call them ‘busy’ would be an understatement. The Ingolstadt based manufacturer has already unleashed their new Audi RS4 Avant and Audi RS5 Coupe and Sportback models onto local roads, as well as their most recent SUV – the new Audi Q8.

The next phase of their product schedule kicks in at the 2019 Festival of Motoring, taking place at the Kyalami Race Track on 22-25 August 2019. Audi South Africa will be revealing three new models, a facelifted model and an upcoming electric model to the media and the public during the event.

The new models in question are the new Audi A1 Sportback, which will be finished in Python Yellow, along with a few gloss black details to emphasise its colourful personality. The specific model on display will be the Audi A1 35 TFSI, which is powered by a turbocharged 1.4-litre petrol engine fitted to a 6-speed S-tronic gearbox, and is priced from R359,000.

The display model will be the Q3 35 TFSI which, like the A1, is also powered by a turbocharged 1.4-litre petrol engine. Maximum output is claimed at 110kW of power and 250Nm of torque for the 35 models. The Audi Q3 is priced from R565,000 in South Africa.

We’re speculating that Audi will have a A7 55 TFSI quattro model on display, powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged petrol V6 engine, featuring Audi’s latest quattro all-wheel drive system.

The facelifted Audi TT will also make its local debut, receiving a host of exterior upgrades such as redesigned bumpers and more aggressive air intakes. The model that everyone will be making a big deal of will be the first-ever, all electric Audi e-tron SUV, which we hear will be finished in the gorgeous e-tron exclusive Antigua Blue colour.
