Details of the long rumored successor to the all conquering Ferrari Enzo have returned yet again. This time they come courtesy of a report by Autoweek that says power on the super-duper car will hit 676 kW and it will be called the F70.
That colossal power is made by a new V12 engine, an evolution of the current V12 found in the 599. The petrol engine contributes 588 kW of that output, the rest of it is provided by the sophisticated KERS system (kinetic energy recovery). One thing that must be noted is that the KERS system only gives a power boost for a limited time until the energy is regenerated meaning the Enzo replacement will spend a great deal of time with just 588 kW available. It seems a little low, but with a low kerb weight and enhanced driving dynamics, it could be enough.
The weight target of the new carbon fiber hypercar is targeted at 1 000 kgs. This means that the F70 should come close to the track-only Ferrari FXX, which weighs 1 156 kg. It could even be quicker off the mark and faster overall than the 736 kW Bugatti Veyron.
