Recent rumors flying around the Internet have suggested that Audi are preparing to launch the RS4 and if reports prove to be correct, it will only be available as an Avant variant. With this in mind, the inimitable Jon Sibal has completed a rendering of what the final model may look like.
The design features an RS inspired front end with a mesh grille, a set of 20 inch wheels, wide fenders and blacked-out window trims. Power for the model would come from the same 4.2-litre V8 engine found in the RS5, which develops 331 kW and 430 Nm of torque. Audi’s Seven-speed S tronic transmission and Quattro all-wheel-drive system would also undoubtedly be part of the package.
Between the powerful V8, the four-wheel drive system and slick dual-clutch transmission, the RS4 Avant is expected to sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in just under 5 seconds and have an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h – expect to find a derestricted 280 km/h box on the options list too.
The new RS4 Avant is likely to appear at next month’s Geneva Motor Show, although with a launch date expected towards the end of the year, we may well be introduced to a pre-production concept.
