Extended Polestar range won’t void warranty
Volvo has dug deep into its pockets to invest heavily into its Polestar range in order to give the relatively obscure performance arm (in South Africa) the gravitas of AMG, RS or M Division.
This week Volvo revealed accessory parts for the S60, V40, V6 and XC60, but puzzling not for the XC90. Now that Volvo has acquired the full rights to Polestar, these performance add-ons can be done at the dealer and will therefore not interfere with the car’s warranty.
Giving customers the power to choose which Polestar accessories they want, a Polestar owner can decide between the alloys, aerodynamic kit, exhaust or chassis upgrades. Smaller packages are available to simplify the process, if you’re a little overwhelmed by it all.
Polestar’s Niels Möller said: “We have received strong feedback over a long period of time from customers all over the world regarding Polestar Performance Parts… This is a product improving on the already strong base of Volvo cars in terms of performance, handling and driving pleasure.”
SA Car Fan will be reviewing the new Volvo S60 Polestar later next month. After doing so we’ll be able to confirm how serious Polestar is about taking the fight to the established leaders in the segment.
