Sound off: New BMW M2 gives the M4 a rev

Not a ‘who has the prettier tooshie’ competition, but which between the BMW M4 and BMW M2, has the fruitiest acoustics. Their 3.0 litre six-cylinder engines share intimate details but the M4 upgrades its boost through twin turbos whereas the M2’s single turbo setup is closer to the N55 engine.

The real difference we assume is one of simple proportions; the M2’s tighter packaging permits a shorter pipe before splitting into the four tailpieces.
