Castrol brings advanced GTX range to SA

Cars are designed to run for a long time and the engine is similar to the human body; the burning of gasoline like respiration and the pumping of oil by the engine like the transportation of oxygen. Without transportation of oxygen, the human body cannot function, but with optimal transportation, the body will operate at peak performance. The same can be said with a car engine and the importance of oil, if left untreated, an engine can be deprived of power and ultimately catastrophic failure.

Engine oil plays a vital role in the internals of an engine. It is responsible for keeping your car’s engine running the way it is meant to – cool and lubricated. When oil becomes dirty, your car could sustain some serious breakages; moving parts start to grind against one another causing damage and wear, which could lead to engine replacement.

Heat, tough driving conditions and poor fuel quality form part of the challenging conditions presented to drivers and their engines. As out of our control as these things may be, Castrol have been working at it for the past 40 years to bring a solution to the problem – the new range of GTX.

Their flagship product, Castrol GTX Ultraclean, contains a double action formula that cleans away old sludge and protects against further formation of new sludge. To further combat the ways of sludge, synthetic technology combined with proprietary sludge blaster, has demonstrated superior sludge performance to bring the cleanest GTX yet.

GTX diesel, specially formulated for engines that thrive on tough African driving conditions, fights those harsh deposits that block oil ways, thicken engine oil and decrease performance.

And for those engines that have a greater number of kilometres under their belt: extended engine life and prevented oil burn-off can be achieved with Castrol GTX 20W-50, a unique formulation designed to meet the changing needs of a high mileage vehicle.

“We are delighted to bring the new Castrol GTX range to market and offer an enhanced product range to consumers who have known and loved the brand for years,” Says David Bouet, managing director for Castrol Africa.

The new generation GTX range will be available in South Africa at all reputable auto stores and workshops as of the 13 June 2016.
