Jeep’s latest SRT SUV has size on its side

Roughly five years after the current generation of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT made its way to our shores, the American automaker has been spied testing what appears to be the facelifted 2017 model Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT.

Powered by a 6.4-litre Hemi-engine, the SUV boasts a redesigned front bumper which incorporates LED fog lights into the lower air intakes while a restyled main lower air intake sits below three new slits and a slimmer front grille.

The rear of the Jeep gains an SRT logo that has been incorporated into the bumper while it also retains its predecessor’s twin exhausts, alloys and intensely lifted bonnet.

As much as this remains Jeep’s top of the range SUV, we predict it will use the same engine capable of producing 350kW although Jeep has yet to comment on whether it will be in the same state of tune.

Further specifications remain unclear at this stage but JeepSA has confirmed that we will only see the SRT’s facelifted version in 2018.
