Alfa comes back for Nurburgring record
September 12, 2016
Porsche launched the 2017 Panamera Turbo with a Nurburgring record to its name, beating the Alfa Giulia’s time by over a second. And while nobody has stopped to mention that these two cars are vastly different, Alfa is keen to nail the 4-door saloon record as a matter of pride. And hopefully sales.
Back for a second attempt, Alfa Romeo snatched the record with a time of 7:32s – a full eight seconds faster than the Panamera Turbo. How did Alfa do it? The firm’s new 8-speed automatic gearbox appears to be much quicker than the 6-speed manual. Now you know which one to buy.
