Mitsubishi expands modern 2017 ASX range

The 2017 Mitsubishi ASX is the first model in South Africa to feature Mitsubishi’s new Dynamic Shield design language. What this means is a notably more prominent front grille surrounded by a striking new design which will soon be seen on a few other Mitsubishi models. In addition – the ASX range has been fattened with the introduction of a new 2.0 MIVEC six-speed CVT derivative.

With the refreshed 2017 Mitsubishi ASX, we see the upper and lower sections of the bumper connect into one single air intake thanks to the Dynamic Shield grille which is rounded off by a lower chromed section. The black section of the intake links the headlights and fog lights and is contrasted by eye-catching chrome details.

Mitsubishi has incorporated its new design language to affect other smaller tweaks. Changes to the new ASX include resigned seat cushions, whilst popular items and high specification level remain unchanged.

The Mitsubishi ASX line-up consists of five derivatives which all feature the 2.0 MIVEC petrol engine capable of 7.5 litres/100km for the manual models and an ever so slightly higher 7.6 litres/100km for the CVT equipped versions. 110kW and 197Nm of torque is delivered to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed CVT transmission.
