Mitsubishi Outlander a rare 7-seat 4×4 combination.
Mitsubishi’s popular crossover SUV, the Outlander, has undergone a substantial makeover giving it a ”bold and edgy new look”- those are the words of Mitsubishi SA. Like most things in life, the styling will appeal more to some and less to others, but it has certainly freshened up what was becoming a fairly dated looking design.
Mitsubishi have made their intentions clear with the Outlander, with luxury being the top priority. The interior has been upgraded and is now equipped with 7 leather seats, a roof mounted 9 inch screen and Rockford Fosgate sound system. Seven airbags and standard safety features such Active Stability and Traction Control, Emergency Brake Assist and Hill Start Assist help the Outlander achieve its five star Euro NCAP rating. Other new equipment includes automatic windshield wipers and headlights, climate control and cruise control .
The 2.4-litre, 4 cylinder petrol engine produces 123kW and is coupled to an all new Continuous Variable Transmission. Three modes allow the Mitsubishi Outlander to switch between locked 4-wheel-drive, a 2-wheel-drive eco mode that only uses 4 wheel drive when absolutely necessary and finally a 4-wheel-drive mode that will switch to 2-wheel-drive when the road surface is particularly undemanding.
The new Mitsubishi Outlander is available immediately from R549 000 (R44 000 more than the outgoing version) and comes with a 3 year/100 000 km warranty and a 5 year/ 90 000 km service plan
