More AMG GT Pics leaked!

Geneva Fever is hitting the automotive community with full-force after Mercedes-AMG’s main event car was leaked before its official debut at the Motor Show later this week. A picture of the unnamed four-door Mercedes-AMG GT, without any camouflage, was leaked onto a Serbian auto blog. It will spearhead Mercedes’ new electric hybrid EQ Power+ brand.

The images confirm that the design of the production model retains a lot from the AMG GT concept that Mercedes-AMG revealed to the world at last years Geneva Motor Show. Of course, the informed individuals of the automotive world knew that the production model would be almost identical to the concept, especially after Mercedes released a few official spy-shots of the model doing its last round of testing.

Almost every image of the four-door AMG-GT highlights the familiar rear-end that is borrowed from the AMG-GT coupe, although aside from the rear, the majority of the design is exclusive to the four-door.

The silver and gold wheels of the AMG-GT concept have been replaced by traditional silver on the production model, which appear to be hiding some potent hardware for braking. The low-sitting, long bonnet is also borrowed from the concept, as well as the aggressive haunches and swoopy roofline.

Now, in order to be a real Porsche Panamera rival, the four-door AMG-GT needs to behave like a supercar and the trend with supercars these days is advanced aerodynamics. Hopefully, some of the aero tech from the GT Concept find their way into the four-door AMG-GT, such as the adaptive aero from the AMG-GTR and the hidden cameras in the place of door mirrors.

Power will come from a tuned-up version of Mercedes-AMG’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, which will be supplemented by an electric motor. More than 450kW of power will be sent through to the wheels via the attest version of 4MATIC+, allowing the four-door AMG-GT to reach 100km/h from rest in under three seconds.
