Carlsson is a firm specialising in refinements for Mercedes Benz and has introduced its next limited edition luxury car: the Carlsson Aigner CK65 RS Blanchimont. Conceived in collaboration with the leather and lifestyle brand Etienne Aigner AG and developed by the Carlsson engineers, this luxury limousine is produced in exclusive small numbers and is designed to “match the mood of an international clientele precisely”.
The Blanchimont is essentially Carlsson’s the four-door version of their CK65 which CarBlog featured way back in September ‘07.
On the outside, the Blanchimont is sporty and seductive, with exclusive two-colour paintwork. Featured inside the car are fine leather fittings, offset by a combination of selected woods, Alcantara and aluminium.
The luxury limo has “all the bells and whistles” such as navigation system, automatic air-conditioning system, ventilated seats with memory function, multi-function steering wheel, Distronic, Parktronic, TV, KeylessGo, etc.
The interior colour scheme can be chosen from more than 30 different combinations. The interior leather and trim are fitted exclusively by hand and, in the view of the fact that the individual stages call for cooling and setting phases, the production and installation of the entire interior takes over two weeks.
Being a luxury limo the car also includes 6.1 surround sound and 7” monitors behind the headrests. A cinematic experience is provided by the 15” monitor integrated into the roof interior. Hinged tables behind the front seats are designed to accommodate laptops, and the integrated power supply ensures use even during lengthy journeys. A WLAN router enables wireless internet from your WLAN-enabled laptop.
At work beneath the bonnet there’s a 12-cylinder engine with an output of 525kW and an electronically limited torque output of 1100Nm. The engine conversion includes a electronic control unit with maps optimised for injection and ignition, sports air filters, stainless steel sports exhaust and improved intercooling system. The result is top speed of 320 km/h – electronically regulated – and 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds!
The Blanchimont rolls on three piece forged 21″ wheels, which are approximately 50% lighter than standard rims. The car is fitted with 265/30 Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres up front and 295/25 at the rear.
Active electronic suspension lowers the vehicle approximately 30mm and enables the vehicle to react “intelligently” with the actual road conditions. On a poor stretch of road, or in the event of persistently heavy compression, the height of the vehicle is automatically readjusted to reduce body roll and maintain precise handling.
Carbon is used for the front spoiler, rear apron and the rear wing. All the aerodynamic attached parts aid in improving driving stability while still achieving a drag coefficient of 0.33.
So if you’re in the market for something you could just about call home, and which will blow your mates twin engined Ferroli Mk1 away, the Carlsson Aigner CK65 RS Blanchimont maybe worth considering! Prices start at 464 100 Euro in Germany.
