RevoZport has launched a new upgrade program for BMW’s latest M car, the 1 Series M coupe. The new bodykit seems to have taken its styling cues from the 2011 MotoGP Safety Car and gives the 1 Series M more aggressive looks, while a bit of engine tuning has released considerably more power.
Judging from how many 1 Series M coupes have already been crashed, we’re not quite sure that extra power is the way to go. Anyway, RevoZport says they can put up to 335 kW into your BMW 1 Series M, which should result in faster acceleration times and a higher top speed – if you remove the car’s maximum speed limiter, that is. The standard BMW 1 Series M develops 250 kW and 450 Nm of torque from a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder engine. The extra power comes from a re-programmed ECU, a new intercooler, a blow-off valve, high-flow air filters and a lightweight titanium sport exhaust.
RevoZport’s body kit for the 1 Series M coupe includes a front splitter, a new bonnet with integrated air vents, a new front grille, side skirts, a rear wing, boot lid and roof spoilers, as well as a rear diffuser. The RevoZport BMW 1 Series M also features a lightweight boot lid and side mirror casings. The new body kit saves 60 kg over the standard car’s weight.
RevoZport prices the new aerodynamic kit for the 1 Series M at around US$7 500.
