Rolls-Royce have given their Phantom a facelift, although you’d be hard pressed to tell the changes from the car that was originally launch in 2003. It is labeled as the Phantom Series II and the updates extend to the saloon, coupe and convertible body styles.
The front end has been given redesigned bumpers and a new set of full LED headlights. The bumpers and headlight openings have both been reshaped and the previous round running lights under the rectangular headlight openings have been dropped. The LED headlights also incorporate electronically-controlled reflectors that focus the beam of the lights in the direction of travel.
The interior gets a new sat-nav system with 3D maps and the new, larger 8.8-inch screen is connected to an improved camera system to aid manoeuvrability of the gentle giant.
The 6.75-litre direct-injection V12 engine is now paired with a new eight-speed automatic transmission, the combination of which is said to cut fuel consumption by 10 percent and CO2 emissions to 347 g/km (previously 388 g/km).
All Phantom Series II models will be built at the company’s Goodwood headquarters and assembly facility in England.
